Gair Eberhard Congratulates Partner Kristi Nelson on Appointment to the Chicago Immigration Court

Gair Eberhard Nelson Dedinas congratulates partner Kristi Nelson on her appointment to serve as an Immigration Judge in Chicago. Ms. Nelson was appointed to serve in this role by Attorney General Merrick Garland.

“We are thrilled for our partner and the Immigration Court,” said partner Chris Gair. “Although we will miss Kristi at the firm, we know her judgment, character, and compassion will strengthen our country’s immigration court system.”

Ms. Nelson has been in private practice for 28 years, litigating complex commercial and employment matters in federal and state courts. In addition to her private practice, she served as probonocounsel for National Immigrant Justice Center in Chicago, where she represented women and children in Immigration Court proceedings. She also traveled to Dilley, Texas in 2018 to represent detained women and children in immigration proceedings.
