GAIR GALLO TEAM WINS JURY TRIAL ON RETALIATION CASE

Gair Gallo’s Chris Gair, Corey Rubenstein, and Ingrid Yin won a complete victory last week for their client, FirstEnergy Corp., an Akron, Ohio based electric company, following an eight-day jury trial in Cleveland. The plaintiff, a former FirstEnergy lawyer, sued under Ohio’s employment discrimination statute, claiming that he had been fired in retaliation for opposing the company’s DEI program as illegal and seeking $6 million in damages. The jury found the company did not discharge the plaintiff with intent to retaliate.
