After winning a $2M jury verdict on behalf of a wealthy decedent against a Chicago neurosurgeon who fraudulently obtained her signature on a contract promising to leave him about $6M in her will, we commenced supplementary proceedings against the defendant, George Dohrmann. Our efforts resulted in Dohrmann being held in contempt and ordered to turnover valuable assets, including two pieces of real estate in Chicago. Dohrmann then filed a phony bankruptcy proceeding to avoid having to turn over the property. We, however, persuaded the bankruptcy court to dismiss the bankruptcy on the basis that it was filed in bad faith. We then proceeded to execute and collect on the judgment, including by selling the real estate and items of Dohrmann’s personal property.
